Quiet Days

We haven't really done much since Christmas. Paul has been busy building with his Lego's and has watched Full House season 1 at least 14 times. It's one of his new ones he got for Christmas. He decided today he needed to clean his closet but only his closet. Needless to say he really needs to clean his whole room. He's excited about New Year's Eve coming but we really aren't going to be doing anything as his dad is working that day. Our snow is still covering most of the ground so we're still in the white. Paul heard snow mention on the TV tonight and he was going no no no no more snow. He has never really liked it anyway but we informed him it wasn't going to be here but higher up. He's been playing with his first baby (Gizmo) and just trying to find things to do. One thing I have to do is watch when he fixes his food cuz he will take much more than he needs. Today he wanted to fix his lunch so I said okay and discovered he had open two cans of spaghetti and meatballs with the intent to eat it all. Needless to say I put some away for another day. He goes I just love it. He has mention tho that he does need to go back on a diet after the new year. Don't we all. Well now I'll leave you with more pictures of Paul and things we've been doing.

A Wonderful Christmas

Well we made it out for Christmas Eve to go to our third son's house for Christmas with the whole family. We had all five children, their spouse, and our five grandchildren. Paul was worried we wouldn't get out of the snow to go but we did and he was excited. He had wrapped all the gifts and as usual as we were opening the gifts Carsen our seven year old grandson open one from Paul. When he got it open it was a play station game Ice Age 2, I didn't remember buying , Carsen was all excited at first til he realize he already had that game and asked about the reciept to maybe get another one, as it turns out it was his from his home that Paul had borrow with permission, at Halloween. So everyone had a good laugh. We had a great time playing games and spending time together. We got back home at 9:30pm and Paul was heading to bed after putting out cookies, milk, and a letter he lefted for Santa.

Santa was good to Paul Christmas he got legos, and three movies. The fun thing was Paul's Dad decided to return Paul's wrapping trick. Paul had given Mark his phone to charge the night before so Mark took the phone and wrapped it up after charging it and put it under the tree. As he was unwrapping he was so excited and then when he saw what it was he got this look on face and said This is a joke right. He spent most the day working with legos and watching movies as he got six new ones. He also decided it was now time to take down the tree being it has been up since a week before Thanksgiving.

stuck in the snow

Paul and Micheal

singing Jingle Bells Paul's partridge in a Pear Tree

Well after a week of snow and wind we're really getting stir crazy up here in the country. We have three feet of snow and snow drifts that are six ft deep. Paul is really starting to feel fenced in and so we decided today we would sing Christmas songs with the karako. As he was singing Twelve days of Christmas he was doing motions with some of the verses. His partridge in a pear tree sent him flying. He made a picture of sleigh and santa and figure he would put them out for santa when he comes. He is so excited about Christmas that he moved the advent calender that we have a couple of days further than they should be. He has wrapped all the presents so it will be interesting to see what each person is going to get as he loves to wrap things from around the house at times. Like I have said never a dull moment. So tonight you get pictures of him and micheal singing together and his imitation of the partridge in a pear tree. Later I'll give you the story behind Micheal.

First posting

A little bit of background on my life. I was married at 19 to my high school sweetheart and after three and half years we had our first son. We then preceded to have two more sons in the next three years. We enjoyed being parents and wanted to have more but it wasn't meant to be so we went into foster care. After getting guardianship of our daughter who was 11 at the time we got Paul three years later who was nine days old. After some legal hold up we finally finalized his adoption when he was nine months old. He was the greatest gift god could have sent us, as he has down syndrome and is such a joy. Anyway the last 22 years with him has been quit the trial, ups and downs, and a lot of fun. One thing with Paul you never have a dull moment. For many years my husband would go to work and tell his buddies there things Paul would do and they loved hearing the stories and amazed at a lot of the things he did so I thought why not share this with everybody. He teaches us stuff everyday. He's quite the artist and makes things everyday. So that's a bit about our life and now how life continues from here. This week was a snow week and he was excited about making his first snowman. It really wasn't but he thinks it was so here's a picture of his first snowman.
